Tuesday Tea

Today the kids and I participated in our first Tea on Tuesday hosted by My Little Wonders.
Tea time is something we do every so often, but I would like to add it weekly as something to look forward to.
We have used tea parties in our family for a while. When MaryEllen was potty trained, we had a tea party to celebrate. We whipped up some shortbread cookies and something else I cannot seem to remember, but I know it was a fun time. The whole family participated. Ahh! Memories!!
Sometimes we have them during lunch, other times we add a goodie. About a week ago, we had one for lunch. Donnie made the sandwiches. These were tomato and cheese sandwiches. We have had ham, turkey and cucumber sandwiches in the past.
The tea pot is a special addition. It was my grandmothers. We recently moved after being packed for close to three years, and while unpacking, I cannot find the lid. I hope it shows up.
The tea cups and dishes were given to me about 13 years ago. A friends room mate did not pay rent, so all her stuff became the property of my friend after a certain amount of time. She let me and my sisters go through and take what we wanted before she had a yard sale. These are still with me!! It is a nice set, one I probably could not afford! LOL!
Okay, here is a picture from last weeks tea party. This is when it hit me that there is a Tea on Tuesday tradition going around. My sister Linda, is the one who introduced me to this. She asked me to make the graphic you see above for her friend, Lori, at My Little Wonders.

Okay, today we had some goodies my husband picked up at the supermarket the other day. You cannot send him to the store hungry or he will come home with too many goodies.
We read ‘Larry Lights the Way’. It was a good story about how we are happier when we are doing what we enjoy and using our talents that God gave us to help others. Helping others makes us happy!!
We didn’t use our traditional tea pot because…well, I don’t know. My thinking at the time was that we already have a full pitcher of ice tea in the refrigerator, so I do not need to make any tea. I usually use the tea I make for ice tea, before it is iced, for our tea parties. Anyway, we just heated up water and had decaffeinated tea.
We had a wonderful time.
Well, I hope you enjoyed visiting our tea party. See ya’ll next week.
Blessings,
Cynthia
