This video came into my in box the other week or so, and as I watched it and cried, I thought, ‘I need to show the kids this video so they will better understand why we pray for our soldiers.’ It is kind of like putting faces to the ones we pray for each night. We also put up a few pictures on our refrigerator that was sent to us by DAV as a reminder to US that there are these men and women away from home fighting for our freedoms.

So, grab a box of kleenex and enjoy this heart-warming video and share in the unspeakable excitement of these families reunions with their loved ones. I cried through the whole ten minutes with a smile on my face!

So, I bought the pharmacy!! Five medications! My husband and I just looked at each other when the pharmacist at Target handed us the bag full of medication for ME. The doctor sent these prescriptions via email, so we had no idea there would be so many. Now, I am not one who likes taking any type of medication, not even for a headache, unless I absolutely cannot bear it. So, we went back to the doctor’s office for an explanation.

He was kind enough to see us and to explain each one. They are for a sinus infection, decongestant, penicillin, a steroid, and an allergy medication (singulair). I am to take them for about a month. If my symptoms come back, he then said he would have to keep me on the singulair.

Last month, when I first went, he put me on two nasal sprays. I think one of those was a steroid too because I asked him why I would have to take two steroids. He then told me I could stop the other one. But, I didn’t tell him I had already stopped spraying my nose. I used the sprays for a month, and that cleared my nasals, so I discontinued using them to see what would happen. So far they have stayed clear.

To tell you the truth, I didn’t feel right taking the steroid he gave me this time either. After reading the package, I decided against it. He said it was to boost the other medications, but I am patient and will let the other medication do its job in its time. Something just told me to not take it. We paid a whopping $42 for it, but I’d rather pay that than my family having to pay for a funeral!! Now I may be over exaggerating, but I didn’t like all the stipulations of the steroid.

So I guess we will be dusting more around here. You know, I did ask why it never bothered me before this and if it was common to just one day have them. I don’t know, maybe I was in denial. Anyway, he said that you cannot be allergic to what you have not been exposed to. So if you do form an allergy, it will be to something you have been exposed to. I thought that was interesting. I didn’t know that about allergies. Well, hopefully this will be the only one I get.

So while I am taking this months worth of medication, I will also research into a more natural way to deal with allergy reactions. Of course dusting and vacuuming more will be the first start!

How many of you remember this book? I do not know what brought it to mind, but I remembered reading it to my little brother when I was a teenager. It was SO much fun!!

Then I got to thinking that I don’t even own this book, nor have I ever checked it out from the library to read to my own kids!! So, I ordered myself a copy. I couldn’t wait to read it to the kids.

When it arrived on Thursday, I snuck it into the laundry room so the kids would not see it. I didn’t want them asking me what was in my package. You know how nosy kids can be especially when they see a package in the mail. Plus, they were still doing their studies and I didn’t want to distract them. But oh how I so wanted to just say, “STOP! Mom has a book she wants to read.” But I didn’t.

I waited until story hour at 7:30. Usually we start with the Bible, but that day, I announced that I had a book I wanted to share with them. They got curious when I headed to the laundry room and not the bookcase.

I showed them the book and explained how I use to read it to their uncle when he was a toddler. The looked at the cover and read the title, “The Monster at the End of This Book“. I never let go of the book so they couldn’t thumb through it. I sat them down and we began to read.

They made remarks about how Grover is a monster so why should he be afraid of a monster! I just chuckled to myself and continued reading. I read the book using my scared voice, my frustrated voice, bringing Grover and the story alive. I used hand motions similar to what it looked like Grover was doing and the kids were having a blast! They were so into the story laughing and giggling and smiling. What more could I ask!!

I have re-read the book to them twice already and they each have read it aloud to themselves or eachother. Donnie read it to me and it was cute to see and hear him read with such expression!!

This book was too much fun!! I am glad I got to finally read it to my kids who are now 8 and 10 years old!!

When I first got it back, it didn’t boot up properly. It gave me a blue screen that disappeared before I could read it. Then it would try to reboot. It would go in circles doing these two actions. I eventually shut it off by holding down the on/off button.

The next day when my husband called the service center to let them know, lo and behold, it booted up. We re-booted it a few times while on the phone with the rep, and it worked fine. We hung up.

Now these past two week, it keeps doing this on and off. When my husband went to look for the recovery partition, it was gone. They had deleted it. Ack! Now we had no way to do a recovery. We had to order the CD’s for 20 some odd dollars!!

Today, after updating, my computer would not boot up again. The blue screen kept coming up. So I took out my 20 some odd dollars recovery CD’s (that I think the repair plan should have covered since they erased our partition), and began the recovery. Now it says that the recovery has failed and I cannot even start windows. Ugh!!

So, I am throwing in the towel and am sending it back to be repaired. We had bought a two year plan, so it should still be covered.

I am going to try not to be frustrated. I have a lot of reading to catch up on anyway. We will be spending this week preparing our hearts and house for Christmas. Don works on Christmas Eve and day, so we are going to celebrate it on his next day off which is December 30th. I do plan to let the kids open their stockings, make a special dinner and we will bake a cake for Jesus.
