Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater Craft

Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater
Poem and Coloring

I got this from Enchanted
Learning when I had a membership. I think you need to be a
member to download it.
I typed up the rhyme as a cover,
and my daughter drew the pumpkin around it...her idea :)

Five Little Pumpkins Craft
I couldn't find the one I used, so I made one up for you all.
You can download it here.

Parts of the Pumpkin
I printed this out when I was a
member of Enchanted Learning. You have to be a member to print
it out. In the mean time, I will look for an alternative.

How a Pumpkin Grows

I didn't use this, but I thought
it was cute. The book you see on our lapbook, is actually
words without pictures. I like this one better, especially for
the little kids.

____________________________
In
2006, we made a pumpkin lapbook. It was so fun!! I love the
Fall season, and pumpkins are one of my favorite items to
buy to decorate the house with. We usually buy a few large
ones and small ones to decorate with and by the end of
November, they are all cooked up and ready for pies.
Here are some pictures of our lapbook.
MaryEllen was 6 years old and Donnie was 5. Because they are
still young, I typed in most of the information. They
colored and enjoyed the stories, learning about pumpkins and
playing with their pumpkins. This one is of MaryEllen's
lapbook.
The links to the items I used in this
lapbook will be to the left. I didn't save websites last
year, so some I need to search for. I will update the links
as I do.

This is the front. I still haven't got a cover on it!! LOL!
We lost our color printer when our house flooded in 2005,
and we haven't replaced it yet. I guess I could have the
kids decorate it themselves. Hmm, now that's an idea!!

Here
the lapbook is opened up with the sides still folded. I typed
up the 'Pumpkins
and Jesus' and the 'Pumpkin
Prayer'. In the center, I printed off the parts of the
pumpkin from Enchanted Learning.

Here is the full view of the inside. On the far left, I plan
on putting pictures of the kids carving their pumpkins. I
need to get that done!!

When you turn the inside folder to the right, the inside
looks like this. The stories include 'Peter Peter Pumpkin
Eater' and 'Five Little Pumpkins'.

Activities in the folder:

I
made a folder out of the middle flap to hold any loose work.
We made a Pumpkin Journal where the kids measured, and
weighed their pumpkin. They also told if they thought their
pumpkin would sink or float.
The kids also counted all the seeds in their pumpkin and
kept a tally. After, we baked the seeds and cooked the
pumpkin. The next day we make pumpkin pie.
It
was SO much fun. I LOVE AUTUMN!!
