Here are some pictures of the lapbook.

I try to keep like items grouped. Here I have all pertaining to the author. Under the 'Author' flap is a definition of author and a place for your child to write a sentence using the word. Ex. The author of the nutcracker is E.T.A. Hoffmann. Or, I am the author of this lapbook.

This side is the 'composer' side. Under the 'composer' flap there is also the definition of composer and a place for a sentence to be written.

We really enjoyed watching Barbie in The Nutcracker.

Now that we will be reading the original story, we can compare the two.

This will be a good time, as with any other Disney movie, to tell of the importance of reading the original fairy tales instead of taking Disney at its word.

Nothing wrong with the Disney movie, but I think the kids should at least have the chance of hearing or reading the stories the way the author has written them.
